WHO WE ARE
En Route Reading strives to help students achieve success in French reading and comprehension. Students will focus on strengthening a variety of literacy skills, such as inferencing, reading for meaning, identifying sentence clues, highlighting key details, extending the conversation, and making personal connections with the text.
En Route Reading focuses on improving comprehension, reading accuracy, pacing, fluency, decoding and self-correcting skills while observing French accents and punctuation. Students will feel more confident and take initiative while being expressive and vocal in their reading journey. With proper teacher guidance and encouragement, students will continue moving on a path towards success and achievement.

My name is Teacher Melissa and I am the founder and CEO of En Route Reading! As a certified member of the Ontario College of Teachers, I have over 20 years experience teaching English, French and Music to students of all ages. I began my teaching career in 2002, teaching English and French in both the private and public school system.
After graduating from university in 2006, I accepted a permanent position with the Toronto Catholic District school board as an elementary French teacher. In 2008, I transitioned to high school teaching French, English, Instrumental and vocal music. In 2016, I began my online ESL teaching journey with VIPKID and DADA ABC.
I continued growing and expanding my ESL teaching experience with QOEG, SuperClass, Lingo Ace and Hoot Reading. I was part of the hiring team at VIPKID and at QOEG, interviewing, mentoring and training new teachers. I obtained both my foundational and advanced TESOL certificates in 2020 and in October 2024, I graduated with a master’s degree in Education.
As a teacher, I believe that the learning never ends. I am thrilled to continue inspiring students with a love of learning, which is why I created En Route Reading, a digital platform that focuses on French reading and comprehension. With En Route Reading, teachers will
